THE DARKNESS OF DAY is a lyrical documentary that explores suicide and the inherent aspects of depression, mortality, and isolation. It is comprised entirely of found footage. A series of anecdotes suggest the various ways suicide can be perceived, contemplated, and enacted. Woven throughout the film are the journal writings of a friend’s brother who killed himself in 1990.
Screened at Telluride Film Festival and winner of 9 awards including Best Documentary, Tampere Film Festival, Finland.
